actualy it's a very polite way to tell that u're wasting time crying.
it's a very polite way to UNDERLINE that You were warned since day 1 that breaking the eula and exploiting holes/bug/manipulating files to create custom holes/bugs could cause the death of your guild wars account, which is a LICENCE to play THEIR game following common sense rules that allows the gaming environment to be as healthy as possible for the other paying customer who just want to play without having to deal with holes hunter.

that responde is VERY clear to me

Perhaps. Its not even about that anymore, they have not been forthcoming with information. They have not been honest with the community.

The consequences should also fit the crime.

2 possibility here

1) the guy at anet feel erotic emotion pressing the ban button.
2) they did conduct extensive search, and flagged your account as 100% bannable. I dont think they will redo the research ever time you send a thicket.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting the PlayNC Game Support Team.

We have received your message regarding your account termination. We have researched that termination and have discovered that your account was involved in the repeated use of a recent game exploit that could have had an extremely negative impact upon Guild Wars and the game economy.

As you are undoubtedly aware, we do not terminate accounts without careful consideration, and we do conduct extensive research to assure that we are acting appropriately before a termination is enacted. In the case of your account, our records show that your account was used to repeatedly take advantage of the serious game exploit mentioned above. We had no choice but to permanently close the account.

We are regretful for the necessity of this decision, but we act, as always, in the best interests of the game and its community of players.

Regards,
The PlayNC Game Support Team

Looks like a response to me?
What more do you want them to say?...ooops?
Sorry...our bad, you can keep farming to your hearts content in a restricted area?

Playing dumb? They are unable to define the standard. They are willing to ban people on this offense and let others go for a similar offense. So no, I did not interpret this as a exploit.

Crime in this case: in the "best" case: abuse of an exploit for personal benefit and bad effects on the game's economy. Worst case: hack
Consequence in this case: ban

Looking at the EULA
Crime: Abuse of an exploit
Consequence: ban

Crime: hacking the game client
consequence: ban

Your problem being?

EDIT:

There is no precedent to this. In no other case have people been able to get into a Dev-only outpost to shortcut to a boss so he could be farmed for great profit repeadedly. This was an exploit.

gaile gray said its a bannable offense, to ferry people. in an update on wiki, I only know this because the link has been posted here over 15 times .. So why dont YOU get YOUR Facts straight.

BTW you can get KOBD lvl 10 without ever doing doa, and there for not know ANYTHING about the place. I got mY SS LB points by farming in the waste place. Not by farming any stupid place near DOA.

You guys all show such great knowledge of the game, I am surprised you are this smart, that you arent playing WOW or FFXI, because according to ALL my friends, guild wars is for stupid people. I even admit it, because I am litterally to dumb to play FFXI, its fecking hard. GW isnt. SO yeah, Im dumb, woopdeedoo..

But dont say cause you have KOBD lvl 10, that that means you know anything about DOA, it doesnt mean that.

Thanks

I have been civil in all of my posts. I have not responded to many of the slanderous posts against my persons. I don't need to. If people are going to show their childishness, let them.. and let others decide for themselves.

Anet has not checked its logs. If they had, why has everyone that received an error45 gotten the exact same message back from Anet support?

because they took few days to actualy distinguish between the ppl who just "have been there" and who "exploited multiple times" to be sure not to screw up things before they pushed the ban-button(tm)?
and btw, unless u can name all the 117 banned people u cannot bring statements such as "everyone that received an error45 gotten the exact same message back from Anet support". as far as you know a handfull of people, without crying nor spamming support to death might have received a different answer and being seriously in good faith they might even be free now.

just a guess

Just as long as you don't say "I shouldn't be banned for the DoA thing because I'm stupid".

And FFXI punishes you for playing. That's not smart, that's dumb as hell.

You're right, it means you should know a lot about the game. Given what was (wasn't) in that outpost should've given some big warning signs.

It's an awesomely bad idea to define exactly where the line for a permanent ban lies. If you do, then folks like you will go right up to that edge without crossing over. It's better to have a general looming threat that says "If you do stuff we don't like, we can ban you." It's easier, it's a better deterrent, and you don't have to deal with people splitting hairs later on.

For future reference, if it seems like something you shouldn't be doing, I suggest not doing it.

People have made their points and arguments have been stated, continuing over and over.
Isn't that the reason of a forum...?

Disagreeing does not equal flaming.

If there was excessive flaming, Bryant wouldn't be here. Spies don't do very well against pyros.

Part of the problem is a lot of people keep changing their points, mainly in changing their stories of what they did to get banned.

Having no standard though, makes the line fuzzy. Punishing players for one offense, and others for a similar offense.. saying it is just and right.. and then not releasing that standard? How are we to know otherwise?

Example.. saying "WTS" is bannable. Saying "Anybody want to buy?" is not.

You're not supposed to know otherwise. The idea is that you avoid testing the limits in the first place.

Gotta love Bryant tho..he's so huggably on target.

OT: ANet has taken action....
This is a forum.
We talk about gaming.
If ANet wishes to open any banned accounts...it's their call.

It's not going to be a win-win for anyone, really, just as long as you're cautious. But it's best to keep the line fuzzy than clear, the former keeps more people at bay.
